What is an EIFS Moisture Survey? The purpose of the survey is to determine if moisture has penetrated the cladding. The survey involves probing the cladding with special moisture sensing equipment. Two six inch probes are inserted to the depth of the substrate (sheathing), and moisture is measured in percent. If the moisture content is over 30%, then rot is usually present and further investigation is done. By the way, the holes are very small and filled in later to the exact texture of the original finish coat. | ||||||||
